- Cervical RIB and Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
- These are rare scenarios where an extra rib is present in the neck which leads to narrowing of the thoracic outlet leading to compression of the Artery, Vein, or Nerves.
- This can lead to tingling numbness in fingers, recurrent discoloration, or gangrene of fingers.
- In such cases, an extra rib needs to be removed to reduce compression symptoms sometimes it needs to combine with adjunctive arterial procedures to maintain blood flow to the arms.
