Root canal
When the decay reaches to the pulp, which is the innermost layer of any tooth, it becomes inflamed/ infected and causes pain. So in such cases a dental filling cannot help and a procedure known as Root Canal Procedure has to be performed.
In a root canal procedure, the decay is removed, all the canals in the affected tooth are located, cleaned, shaped and filled up.
This procedure is followed by filling the tooth and in most cases crown placement.
People are fearful about Root Canal Treatment. They think it is a painful procedure in dentistry. But it`s a myth. The process is done under anesthesia. And by this process a dying natural tooth can be saved eliminating the possibility of tooth removal and its replacement with an artificial substitute.
